1. Who we are
Internvest is run by Internvest, Inc., a Delaware corporation. It is a preparation platform for students recruiting into high-finance careers: Investment Banking, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Asset Management, Sales & Trading, Management Consulting, Private Credit, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and Corporate Finance. This policy explains what we collect when you use Internvest and what we do with it. It is written to be read.
2. What we collect
We collect the following:
- Account details: your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google, and nothing else.
- Prep activity: your plan-builder answers, drill and mock interview results, programs you save or track, application stages you record, networking contacts and notes you add, and the LinkedIn drafts and resume checklists you fill in. A resume file you check is read in your browser and never uploaded. This is your working data; we store it so the product works.
- Billing records: which plan you are on, your invoice history, and payment status. Card numbers go directly to Stripe, our payment processor, and never touch our servers.
- Email sign-ups: the email address you enter to get the Internvest Briefing or an alert about a program, even if you have no account.
- Technical data: your IP address, your browser and device type, and error logs when something breaks. Vercel, which hosts the site, keeps request logs, and Sentry receives error reports and page-load timings for a sample of visits.
- Product analytics: a few named steps in signup, checkout and cancellation, such as viewing the plans, starting checkout, and which reason you pick in the cancel survey, recorded by PostHog. We send the reason you picked from the list and what you did next, never anything you type. The Cookies section below explains what PostHog stores.
3. How we use it
We use your data to run the product: building your prep plan, sending the deadline and opening alerts you asked for, grading your drills and mocks, and keeping your tracker in sync. We also use aggregate, de-identified usage patterns to improve the product, and your email to respond when you contact support. We use technical data to keep the service running, stop abuse, and fix errors.
You can turn off any alert or product email from your settings, and every email we send includes a way out at the bottom.
4. What we never do
Some lines we do not cross:
- We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
- We do not share your prep activity, scores, or application pipeline with firms, recruiters, or schools.
- If your seat comes through a club or career center plan, your organization sees aggregate usage only, never your individual drill scores, mock results, or application pipeline.
- We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
5. Service providers
A few companies run parts of Internvest for us, and each receives the data its part needs:
- Stripe processes payments and holds your card details.
- Clerk runs sign-in and stores your account details, including your password in hashed form if you set one.
- Neon hosts our database.
- Vercel hosts the website and keeps request logs, which include IP addresses. Its Web Analytics counts page visits without cookies.
- Anthropic runs the AI features. Text you submit to an AI feature, such as your mock interview answers and coaching chat messages, is sent to Anthropic’s API to generate the reply, along with the prep details the coach uses, such as your target paths, drill results, application stages, and upcoming deadlines.
- PostHog records the product analytics described above.
- Sentry receives error reports when something breaks, and page-load timings for a sample of visits, with the page address and your browser and device type.
- esm.sh, a public code CDN, serves the drawing fonts the interview whiteboard loads, so it sees your IP address when you open the whiteboard.
- Zoho hosts our email, so the messages you send us are stored there.
6. Payments
All payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy and security certifications. Stripe sends us a confirmation of each payment, with the name, email address, and billing country or postal code you gave at checkout; we never see your full card number. If we issue you a refund, it goes back through Stripe to the payment method you paid with.
7. Cookies
Clerk, our sign-in provider, sets cookies that keep you signed in. PostHog, our product analytics provider, stores a random ID in a cookie and in your browser’s local storage so it can count repeat visits. PostHog receives that ID, the page address, your browser and device type, and your IP address, but we never send it your name, your email address, or anything you type, and its session recording and automatic click capture are turned off. The app also saves your prep work in your browser’s local storage. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. If you want out, email us and we will delete your account and its data within 30 days, keeping only the billing records we are legally required to hold. You can also ask for an export of your data before deletion and we will send it in a portable format.
9. Security
Data moves over encrypted connections and is stored with access restricted to the small set of people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever discover a breach affecting your data we will tell you promptly and plainly.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email account holders before the change takes effect and update the date at the top of this page. We will not quietly weaken it.
11. Contact
Questions, deletion requests, or anything this page did not answer: team@internvest.com. A person reads every message, usually the same day.
